Under the Nile specializes in organic clothing and products for children. They use only Egyptian grown Demeter certified organic cotton (organic from seed to finished product) that is known for its softness and durability. Under the Nile uses only metal-free or vegetable dyes and the zippers and snaps are nickel-free metals.

These environmentally friendly products are produced under Fair Trade conditions. The growing and weaving of the cotton takes place in Egypt at Sekem farms, where the employees have access to safe, comfortable working conditions, two organic meals daily, full service health care and a school for both the workers and their children.

Under the Nile has also started the 13 Villages Project, taking place in 13 rural villages in Sharkeya, Egypt. Under the Nile has educated the villagers on how to make their toys while providing full health care and paying fair wages for their work.
